After a brutal car accident, Ahmed, a driven young businessman, is critically injured and trapped in a Tunisian public hospital with his younger brother Nour. Thrust into an unfamiliar, chaotic system, he discovers a world of pain, waiting, and silent resilience. As Nour clings to life, Ahmed is forced to confront his own values, social inequality, and the fragility of control. His experience becomes a powerful lens through which the film critiques Tunisia’s struggling public healthcare system—marked by neglect and human suffering.
Jamil Najjar is a Tunisian filmmaker and screenwriter known for his socially engaged storytelling. After studying cinema in Tunis and participating in various international workshops, he began his career directing short films that explore themes of identity, inequality, and human resilience. JAD is his first feature film, inspired by a true story and rooted in the realities of the Tunisian public healthcare system. With a strong visual style and a deep sense of humanity, Najjar seeks to give voice to those often unheard. His work bridges personal narratives with broader social critiques, marking him as a bold new voice in Arab cinema.
