Growing International Presence of Sudanese Cinema Through Sudan Film Factory Activities
Sudan Film Factory continued strengthening the international presence of Sudanese cinema during March and April 2026 through screenings, cultural programs, and participation in international initiatives focused on memory, identity, and human documentation through cinema. The film won the ANHAR Award for Best Human Rights Film in 2025.
March continued screenings of Khartoum within the “Voices and Visions of Sudan” program in the United Kingdom, alongside academic discussions and broadcasts through BBC Storyville, as well as screenings in Nairobi.
The organization also participated in Qumra 2026 through the project Where Do I Belong?
In April, Sudanese cinema was highlighted in cultural events, including a special Sudanese film program at the Palestine Film Institute and participation in ALFILM Berlin through the program “Sudan Spotlight: A New Projection.”
These activities reflect the growing role of Sudanese cinema as a cultural space connecting filmmaking, documentation, and collective memory while introducing new Sudanese voices to global audiences.
