Ma3mal 612 and Wind Cinema Develop Training Program for Syrian Filmmakers
Ma3mal 612 Think Factory and Wind Cinema have developed a new project titled “Syrian Filmmaking Workshops” to support Syrian filmmakers and cinema professionals living inside Syria and in the diaspora.
The proposed 12-month program, planned for implementation in Jordan, has been submitted to France’s National Centre for Cinema and the Moving Image.
The program covers establishing film festivals and film clubs, programming and distribution, creative and financial aspects of production, low-budget filmmaking, short and personal films, socially engaged cinema, and impact filmmaking.
The project responds to the need for sustainable professional development opportunities for Syrian filmmakers whose work has been affected by displacement, conflict, and limited access to production and distribution resources.
Through this initiative, Ma3mal 612 and Wind Cinema aim to provide practical skills, regional connections, and opportunities for cooperation and co-production while supporting the regional and international presence of independent Syrian cinema.
