Beirut Arab Film Festival Holds Its 17th Edition Across Lebanon
Nadi Lekol Nas, an ally of ANHAR – Arab Network for Human Rights Films, organized the 17th edition of the Beirut Arab Film Festival from 20 to 25 July 2026 under the patronage of the Lebanese Ministry of Culture.
The festival’s activities were hosted at several cultural venues, including the Sursock Museum and Dar El-Nimer in Beirut, Cinema Ishbilia in Sidon, in addition to screenings and events in Tripoli.
The program featured Lebanese and Arab short and feature films, a competition dedicated to films produced by students of the Lebanese University, and discussions addressing cinema, memory, identity, education, and visual archiving.
The festival brought together filmmakers, researchers, students, critics, and audiences interested in independent Arab cinema. Its program highlighted cinema’s role in preserving collective memory, supporting young voices, and reflecting on war, displacement, and social change.
The edition concluded with a special musical event, reaffirming the festival’s role as a platform for Arab cinema and cultural dialogue in Lebanon.
