The film was honored for its powerful engagement with human rights and humanitarian issues, and for highlighting the lived experiences of Sudanese society through a compelling cinematic narrative.

A group of Sudanese filmmakers collaborated on the production of the feature-length documentary “Khartoum,” which had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in 2025. The film subsequently continued its journey through a wide range of international film festivals.
