Film Screenings and Artistic Workshops in Homs to Support Independent Syrian Cinema

The ANHAR – Arab Network for Human Rights Films, in cooperation with Wind Cinema, is preparing a program of film and human rights screenings in Homs during May 2026, featuring a selection of narrative and documentary films addressing contemporary human and social issues.

The program includes screenings of Lovers’ Notebooks, The Sacrifice, and Gone with the Wind on May 19, 21, and 23, 2026, at Cinema Al-Dar, in addition to the documentary Walls of Saraqib (55 min, Syria 2024–2025), which had its world premiere at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. A trilogy screening by director Iyad Al-Jaroud.

The initiative supports independent Syrian cinema and strengthens cultural and artistic partnerships. Preparations are also underway for a special event at the end of May in Homs featuring screenings, artistic discussions, and training workshops highlighting the role of cinema in expressing humanitarian and social issues.
