The Launch of the 15th Edition of the Karama Human Rights Film Festival 2024 Under the Theme:Justice
Amman, Jordan – The Karama Human Rights Film Festival, organized by Ma3mal 612 Think Factory, has announced the launch of its 15th edition, which will take place from December 5 to 12, 2024.
The festival opens its film submission process for the new edition from July 1 to October 10, 2024, with a requirement that the films must have been produced after January 2022. The festival accepts films in the categories of long and short documentaries, long and short narratives, and long and short animated films.
Filmmakers will compete for several prestigious awards, including the Karama Feather, Best Narrative Feature, Best Narrative Short, Best Documentary Feature, Best Animated Film, the Audience Award, and the ANHAR Award for Best Human Rights Film, presented by the Arab Network for Human Rights Film Festivals.
Karama in Amman is the first human rights film festival in the Arab world and the first international film festival in Jordan. Over the years, the festival has supported the establishment of several human rights film festivals in the region, including Karama Palestine (2013), Karama Mauritania (2014), Karama Gaza – Red Carpet Human Rights Film Festival (2015), Karama Beirut (2016), and Karama Yemen (2018). It has also supported Karama Tunisia – Human Screen Festival and Erato Human Rights Film Festival in Libya, through the ANHAR Network for Arab Human Rights Film Festivals, which was founded in 2015.
