9th edition of the Karama Beirut Human Rights Film Festival

Karama Beirut – Preparations for the 9th Edition in June 2025

Intensive preparations are underway for the 9th edition of the Karama Beirut Human Rights Film Festival, which will take place from June 27 to 30, 2025, under the theme “Remember”, marking the 50th anniversary of the Lebanese Civil War. The festival team has successfully secured support from the Lebanese Ministry of Culture and renewed its partnership with UNDP.

The festival program will feature four recently produced Palestinian feature films, in addition to a selection of films that reflect on the Civil War. The lineup also includes a curated group of short films from the Arab region and around the world. A panel discussion on the Civil War will be held, featuring academics, political activists from the American University of Beirut, members of Fighters for Peace, and representatives from the Association of the Families of the Kidnapped and Disappeared.

Additionally, a promotional event was held at the Lebanese American University in Beirut, aimed at introducing the Karama Beirut Human Rights Film Festival to students and encouraging their active participation in the upcoming edition.
