Action 216 Strengthens Cooperation with the World Organization Against Torture

The Cultural Association for Cinematic Action – Action 216 in Tunisia has renewed its cooperation with the World Organization Against Torture, known internationally as OMCT.

The renewed partnership seeks to strengthen the use of cinema as a tool for human rights education, public awareness, advocacy, and opposition to torture and ill-treatment.

The two organizations are discussing several forms of cooperation, including the possibility of presenting an award for the best human rights documentary at a Karama festival or providing a small grant in support of Karama Human Rights Film Festival in Jordan.

The cooperation may also include a specialized panel on combating torture as part of a future Karama festival program. It supports ANHAR’s broader mission of connecting film festivals with civil society and human rights institutions across the region.
