Activities and Updates from “Youth of the World Together” Organization

The “Youth of the World Together” organization has closed its offices in Sana’a, Yemen, and laid off all staff due to the severely deteriorating security situation in the country. Only three team members continue to work remotely from their homes. As a result of losing all sources of funding, the Karama Yemen Human Rights Film Festival has been postponed indefinitely, pending future changes in the political and security context.

It is worth noting that the director of the organization visited Amman, Jordan, on February 15 to attend a closed meeting with international funders in an effort to secure support for Karama Yemen. Although the meetings were constructive and showed positive interest, they did not result in concrete agreements, which remains one of the main reasons behind the festival’s suspension.
