The Power of Humanity: Theme of the 17th Edition of Karama Human Rights Film Festival 2026
Karama Human Rights Film Festival, organized by Ma3mal 612 Think Factory, announced the opening of submissions for the festival’s 17th edition, scheduled to take place in Amman in 2026.
The festival will receive submissions from May 1, 2026, until September 1, 2026, inviting filmmakers from around the world to submit works under this year’s theme: “The Power of Humanity.”
This year’s theme explores “Power of Humanity” as the fragile yet profound strength within people: the ability to feel, choose, and resist indifference. It is presented as a force that enables human beings to perceive the world differently and engage with it more deeply.
The festival administration emphasized that cinema, in this context, is not merely a tool to document reality, but rather a space for discovering moments of inner transformation, where people decide to see, approach, and act.
The festival seeks films that capture humanity in both vulnerability and hidden resilience — works that reveal the human capacity for survival, empathy, and change, without offering easy answers, but instead encouraging audiences to confront themselves and their human questions.
