Karama HRFF 16th Edition

Karama Human Rights Film Festival – Jordan & Ma3mal 612

Ma3mal 612 Think Factory is currently preparing for the 16th edition of the Karama Human Rights Film Festival, scheduled to take place from December 5 to December 15, 2025, maintaining its traditional annual dates. Preparations include the official Call for Film Submissions, set to launch on June 13, 2025.

The festival team is currently deliberating the central theme for this edition, tentatively titled: “Safeguarding Core Human Rights Values – The Vault of Rights and Legal Security.” This theme reflects growing global neglect and indifference toward public human rights violations, emphasizing the urgent need for a reserve or “vault” that protects the essence of humanity from escalating crises and injustices across the world.

In parallel, the team is also developing a series of cinematic human rights workshops in collaboration with Wind Cinema, a new partner from Syria. These workshops represent a foundational step toward establishing the Karama Syria Human Rights Film Festival under the title “Free Cinema.” Notably, the festival venue has already been secured at the Syrian Opera House, but the official festival dates—initially planned for May—have been postponed due to emerging regulatory restrictions in light of recent political developments.
